Grinding Wheels For Generative-Type Gear Grinding

TYROLIT offers the MIRA grinding wheels with our unique VM bonding system. In addition to the bonding system, Tyrolit also offers special and sintered aluminum oxide abrasive grains. The combination of all of these technologies results in superior profile stability, a reduction is stress on the workpiece, increased dressing cycles and decreased grinding times.

The TYROLIT material specifications have been optimized through the combination of grains and bond. Based on the type of machine and module of the workpiece, there is a material specification developed for your requirements. We can provide 1- to 7-start grinding wheels for a module range of 0.5 to 8.0.

All Grinding Wheels can be delivered as follows:

Un-profiled wheel
Pre-profiled wheel (based on module, pressure angle and number of starts)
Pre-profiled wheel with additional undercut for grinding wheel clearance (based on module, pressure angle and number of starts)

Single Profile Grinding Wheels For Gear Grinding

The MIRA single profile grinding wheels by TYROLIT are offered in a variety of vitrified materials for single index generating grinding. Wheels are also available for single index from grinding. Special and sintered aluminum oxide abrasive grains are combined with our unique bonding system which results in superior profile stability, increased dressing cycles, reduced dressing tool wear and decreased grinding times.

Vitrified Bevel Gear Grinding Wheels / Cups

The MIRA product line by TYROLIT offers a large range of vitrified grinding wheels (cups). Special and sintered aluminum oxide abrasive grains are combined with our unique bonding system, which results in superior profile stability, increased dressing cycles, reduced dressing tool wear and decreased grinding times. These special grinding wheels are referred to as a Form 2 grinding wheel. When required these grinding wheels can be manufactured with a metal or resin base.

Honing Rings For Gear-Honing

The TYROLIT honing ring product range consists of:

Resin-bonded honing rings
Vitrified honing rings
Compound honing rings

The MIRA tools for gear honing are produced exclusively at our TYROLIT-REINEKE plant in Werdohl, Germany. The MIRA line of honing rings can be used on all gear-honing machines. The wheels are recommended based on each individual's specific application. We are able to offer the complete engineered system solution, which includes the honing rings (external tooth and internal tooth), diamond dressing gears, and diamond dressing rings. Diamond Dressing Gears For The Dressing Of Honing Rings & Grinding Wheels

The MIRA diamond dressing gears by TYROLIT can be utilized for the dressing of the following items:

External and internal honing rings
Globoidal grinding wheels
Grinding wheels for continuous generating grinding

The MIRA diamond dressing gears are designed and manufactured exclusively at our TYROLIT-REINEKE plant in Werdohl, Germany. The MIRA line of honing rings can be used on all gear-honing machines. We offer the complete engineered system solution with the diamond dressing gear, diamond dressing ring and honing ring or globoid grinding wheel. To ensure success, TYROLIT always provides an optimized tool design in addition to our application engineering and technical support. Complicated gear geometry including topological profiles can be produced on our special Maag topological gear grinding machines. The MIRA diamond dressing gears are produced as both a positive electro-plated tool and a double-reverse (negative) plated tool. Diamond dressing rings are generally produced as a positive electro-plated tool.
