The Model KFS100.3 features:

• The Koepfer 100 series hob sharpening machine offers a horizontal high-speed direct drive grinding spindle with 12,000 RPM.

• Straight and spiral gash hobs of high-speed steel or carbide can be efficiently sharpened.

• The coolant system with paper filtration is positioned in the machine bed.

• GE Fanuc CNC control of all four axes minimizes setup  time and maximizes accuracy and repeatability with an operator-friendly prompting program as well as CNC storage of cutter data.

• This KFS 100.3 will sharpen hobs to AGMA (American Gear Manufacturers Association) class "AAA" quality. Pneumatic tailstock provides positive clamping pressure while grinding.

• The KFS 100.3 is designed for hobs up to 4" in diameter, 8" of face with a maximum 5 DP.

• It is capable of grinding high-speed steel (HSS) and carbide tools using CBN or diamond abrasive.

• Operators will appreciate the ergonomic considerations and accessibility of the machine spindles for easy setup.

• Plant engineering will notice the one-piece machine design with easy access to all machine systems for maintenance.
